I studied art at Johannesburg Art School in South Africa. I went into advertising as Art Director and Creative Director in various agencies including J Walter Thompson and McCann Erikson.

I then discovered the joys of illustration and having progressed as far as I could in South Africa, emigrated to the UK in 1978.

At that time I was an airbrush artist and produced two of the world’s best selling posters – Long Distance Kiss and Hollywood Diner. I also worked in oils, pencil and pastel.

When I started working digitally, my work consisted of airbrushed drawings scanned and refined in the computer [90% airbrush, 10% digital].

My illustrations have always varied from stylistic to realistic, either of which I find equally enjoyable.

Over the years I have done work for all the major advertising agencies, design groups and film companies both in the UK and America. Everything from toothpaste to motor cars to puppets, food, fruit and animals.

My work has appeared in newspapers, magazines, hoardings, record covers, film and television worldwide. I have won many awards over the years and my proudest moment was having a gold medal award presented to me, personally, by Bill Bernbach.
